Montem Ultra Strong Trekking Poles

SO the new year had a bit of a rocky start, unfortunately, I dislocated my knee at work at the end of January. As I was set up at home nursing it and going to physical therapy I was contacted by Montem. They wanted to send over some of their Ultra Strong Trekking Poles for me to test and review. I was quick to answer with a YES! It was an unfortunate situation but I was going to make the best of it. As soon as I was cleared to do light hikes I took out the trekking poles out on many hikes and I was so glad I had them. They helped take so much weight off my knees and greatly helped with my balance. It was a bit of a learning curve as I’ve never used trekking poles only when snowshoeing but it was a quick lesson. Goose was also happy I was able to get back out and start hiking again.

These bright, sturdy, simple set of trekking poles, by Montem’s Ultra Strong Trekking Poles are the poles of choice. They’re made of aluminum, this material is not as brittle, or has as much flex as carbon fiber. So you don’t have to panic thinking they’ll break if you accidentally drop them or really lean into them like I did on the trail. Another perk is they’re lightweight enough for most people only a few ounces in weight difference then the carbon fiber competitors and a fraction of the price. With the EVA foam grip, it is super comfortable, it also didn’t have my hands in a sweaty mess. The poles also come with rubber tips and baskets, not all brands of trekking poles have these and you have to buy those pieces separately.

Montem offers their trekking poles in a large array of colors- Black, Matte Black, Matte Blue, Matte Pink, White, Yellow

The Montem Ultra Strong Trekking Poles are designed for all-season on-trail/off-trail versatility. The three-piece, ultralight, narrow diameter aluminum shafts, reduce weight without sacrificing strength. Claimed to be built from the same form of aluminum used in airplanes, we gave it a test, and it definitely holds up to a sturdy weight bearing system capable of supporting roughly 350lbs of weight. Dual FlickLock pole locking mechanisms allow for easy length adjustment. Clamping force is adjustable allowing for customization down to the finest details. The poles also feature extended grips allowing for your hand placement to be easily adjusted on uneven terrain.
