Zuke’s Skinny Bakes

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if your pup has gained weight 2 lbs is easy to miss on a larger dog and that can slowly creep up to a larger number on the scale.  Once your pup reaches his maturity, ask your vet for his optimal weight. As a good rule of thumb, 15% above that weight is obese; zero to 15% is overweight. The sad thing is according to a 2011 study, 53% of dogs are overweight or obese. I think a lot of pet parents love giving their beloved friends treats, but if your dog is struggling with his weight you may want to opt for a low-calorie treat. Yes, you can give raw fruit or veggies but I think just like humans dogs miss having an actual treat and sometimes training and convenience doesn’t work with raw apples or carrots. That’s when Zuke’s Skinny Bakes come in, Zukes has four different sizes and calorie treats for you to choose from…

They all come in so many great flavors and they smell so good, every time I reached for the bag I had an audience.

Dante, Sheba and Goose loved all the Skinny Bake treats from Zuke’s but they each had their own personal favorites that they went bonkers for!

Dante and Goose love the Skinny Baked Treats from Zuke’s, Sheba loves them too but Sheba has really benefited from them, Sheba is 11 years old and for the past 9 years that we have had her in our lives, she has been struggling with weight gain. We call her our yo-yo dieter her weight would drop and then the next year it would jump back up she use to weighed a whopping 68 pounds! That’s  huge for a cattle dog who should weight 40-45 pounds. Thankfully to the careful measuring of her food and watching her treat intake (thanks to Zuke’s Skinny Bakes) Sheba is down to 46 pounds. And you can tell she is a much happy version of Sheba she can run and play without sore joints or being out of breath it’s amazing that just losing weight has extended her life and her well-being. It was a hard task cause she is naturally lazy so we had to do lots of hikes and motivation with Zuke’s Skinny Bakes.

The 10 calorie Zuke’s Skinny Bakes are a perfect size for training and motivating a naturally lazy dog to get excited about working out or training again! I would definitely recommend these treats to anyone looking for a low-calorie treat to still feed their pup. I would also suggest that when meals are properly moderate and exercise is added you will see a huge improvement in weight loss for your pup, but like anything thing, though you must be consistent. Remember to consult your veterinarian when adding any new workout program or changes that you may have any concerns with.
